Traditional Photograph Album

Showcase your family pictures

With the increasing popularity of digital cameras and the fast pace of life, few people take the time nowadays to create a traditional photograph album, instead storing their digital photos on a computer or disc. This really is a shame. When you create a traditional photograph album, you make something that not only showcases your photos, but arranges them in the personal style that shows you care about what you are doing. If you make your own photograph album, you can not only select what photos to include, but what kind of book to use, how many photos to put on each page and where in your home to display it.

I first decided to create a traditional photograph album about a year ago. I didn't even think to create a photograph album until I had been using my digital camera for quite some time. Back when I used to use my analog camera, I would keep all my photographs in boxes and look at them whenever I wanted. I had always wanted to create a traditional photograph album, but somehow had never got around to doing it, and over the years I had become quite adept at hunting for the image which I wanted in my boxes of pictures.

It took the digital camera to make me finally create a traditional photograph album. I had a virtual photo album on the computer, one which I could download my images onto, and where I could arrange them however I wanted. I could even design covers or text for my digital photo album. It was so convenient that I rarely bothered to look at my old pictures any more. It was too bothersome to go searching through the boxes.

Then one day, my son’s girlfriend came to visit. I decided to make her feel part of the family by showing off some of my son’s baby pictures (and embarrass him in the process)! But when I looked for them, no matter how hard I looked, I couldn't find them at all. It was then that I realized I had to create a real photograph album as well as a virtual one, or run the risk of losing track of my photos and all of the memories attached to them. I no longer knew where my pictures were in the boxes, which I didn’t like.

The next day, I bought myself a beautiful hardbound book in order to create my traditional photograph album. I now have several, and at last my precious pictures are organized and enjoyed as they should be.
